Panic! At The Disco is a punk-centric band with an edge. Panic! At The Disco or P@TD, was formed back in 2004 under the label of Fueled By Ramen. Fueled By Ramen has produced many famous artists such as Paramore, All Time Low, and Twenty One Pilots. But before P@TD got picked up by the label, they were just four high schoolers who were playing in their grandparents’ basement. The original four members are Spencer Smith, Ryan Ross, Brendon Urie, and Brent Wilson. One by one all the members left except Smith and Urie. Continuing the band they added two more members. Ian Crawford and Dallon Weekes were the newest members. Crawford and Smith both left the band, and Weekes decided to only be a touring player. As of 2017, Panic! At the Disco has recorded 7 albums and have toured around 16 times. Some of the most popular albums are: A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out, Pretty. Odd., and Death of a Bachelor. According to Billboard, Panic! At the Disco’s most popular song is Hallelujah, which was #2 in 2015. Urie has continued to release music as a solo singer, and his fanbase has only continued to thrive and grow.

Lui Collins (born in 1950 in Barre, Vermont) is a contemporary folk singer-songwriter. She attended the University of Connecticut and played her first gigs as a student there. She began touring in the mid-1970s as part of duos with Horace Williams Jr., Guy Wolff and Bill Lauf Jr., and all four received “produced by” credit on her first album, “Made in New England,” 1978. Originally a Philo Fretless LP, that album was later reissued as a CD by Green Linnet in 1985, GLCD 1056. From her first recording, her albums included her own compositions as well as others written by her performing partners and friends, including Williams, Lauf, Julie Snow, and others. Her albums have included some children’s music, some of which she co-wrote with children’s author Jane Yolen. In 1997 Collins relocated to the Pioneer Valley in western Massachusetts, immersing herself in music. In addition to her solo performances in concerts, festivals and schools, Collins has performed extensively with singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Dana Robinson. Together they released two limited edition collaborative recordings, Paired Down and Paired Down Vol. 2, in 1998 and 1999 respectively.

GREENBUSH

Greenbush is a jazz band consisting of John Creech and Cobey Gatos. John has been a musician for more than forty years, focusing on guitar, and even writing his own songs. He has studied many different aspects of music throughout his career and started the business Burlington Guitar and Amp. Cobey is similar to John in the sense that they have been playing for a very long time and have studied music in many different ways. Cobey was in his first band in fifth grade and hasn’t stopped since. He is a keyboard player and composer and has appeared in performances ranging from solos, choruses, and jazz and rock groups. Both John and Cobey live on the same street, Greenbush, which is where their band name originated from. The band is playing next at Leunig’s at 12pm on Monday, June 4th.

CHRISTIAN SCOTT ATUNDE ADJUAH

Christian Scott Atunde Adjuah is a grammy nominated, two time Edison Award-winning bandleader, a composer, and a highly regarded trumpeter. In 1983 Christian was born in New Orleans where he was surrounded by Mardi Gras Traditions. He now refers the music that native New Orleans people play as Stretch Music. He attended school for the creative arts at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts and afterwards at he attended Berklee School of Music. His new recordings blend genres of music into a new forward thinking style of rock, R&B, and Jazz. He will be performing at the FlynnSpace on Sunday, June 3. He has wo shows that day at 6pm and 8:30pm and its $40 per show.

LEFT EAR TRIO

Left Ear Trio is in their 16th year of playing together and has developed their own unique style. They play throughout New England but mostly in New York. So far they have put out two albums: “Dream” and “The Outside Voice of the Left Ear Trio.” On June 1st at 8:30 they will be performing at the Light Club Lamp Shop; you should go check them out. From their website: “Our original work is influenced by funk and American roots music, as well as the traditional music of places like Nigeria, Mali, and Columbia. We try to write songs which attract the interest of dancers and listeners alike.”

Lauren Costello will be playing at the local Vermont Jazz Festival. The BCA on June 5th at 6 o’clock is the place to be if you want an intriguing funky performance. Lauren Costello will be performing live with their own musical style called Ouzkxqlzn. Ouzkxqlzn is made up of multiple instruments such as, vocals, tape recordings, cello, guitars, and other unique noises. Ouzkxqlzn gives a creepy fascinating vibe that anyone could appreciate. Costello has done multiple covers and some originals. Everyone is guaranteed to see a bone chilling performance if you go see her performance. Ouzkxqlzn might just be your new favorite type of music once you hear it.

NEW ORLEANS SWAMP DONKEYS

New Orleans Swamp Donkeys is a band based in New Orleans. They are a band that plays classic jazz music for the old folks, or for the new. They have taken a lot of inspiration from the Harlem Renaissance. They call members of their band Swamp Donkeys. They were founded in 2012, even though they are new that have made a huge impact. They are playing on June second at 9pm at Nectars. Hope to see you there.

RHIANNON GIDDENS

Rhiannon giddens was born on February 21st 1977. She is a jazz singer from Greensboro, North Carolina. She is also part of a band called Carolina Chocolate drops. Her band won a grammy a couple of years ago. She studied opera in college and she got into jazz a couple years later. She also in addition to work with her band she has two solo albums Tomorrow Is My Turn (2015) and Freedom Highway (2017). She performs on Church street, Burlington VT on June 9th in the Discover Jazz festival. Leslie odom jr. is performing on june 8th at the flynn theater at 8:00. He was born August 6th, 1981. He was apart of the broadway show Hamilton, He has been acting and singing his whole life but his singing career really blew up a couple of years ago. He has won a Tony award, and one grammy. He is also the author the of the book “Falling Up.” This is Leslie Odom Jr.
